Overview of Author Placement Fees
Author events are a labor-intensive feature of the show that require us to hire a special staff to handle all the books and make the magic happen. We charge the following fees per author. (There is no charge to host an in-booth signing for your author.) Invoices will be emailed via Quickbooks as soon as every author is confirmed and ready to go (likely mid September).
All event books shipped in advance will be subject to a drayage fee of $1 per book (a savings over traditional drayage companies). A separate itemized invoice will be emailed to you. This fee covers receiving book freight, storing it until the show, delivering it to the show, and setting it up for the event.
Putting a book in a booksellers' hands is how we start a big part of the marketing and promotional engine. Publishers provide comp books or galleys for the show. Exact quantities are posted in the individual event instructions.
Hotel and Such
All author travel, food, and lodging fees are the responsibility of the publisher.
