Book Awards Dinner

At Heartland's Book Awards dinner, we celebrate the winners of Midwest Booksellers Choice Awards; Great Lakes, Great Reads; and the Voice of the Heartland. It's a formal dinner event with a festive, celebratory appeal.
The awards dinner is a ticketed event with three courses and a cash bar. We ask the publishers of our award-winning authors to purchase
a table of seats (9 total, as the author's seat is free of charge) and invite booksellers to join your author and staff during the meal.
Starting at 7:00 pm, the emcee will share a few remarks. The first two courses are served while attendees eat and socialize. Once dessert is served, the emcee takes the stage and introduces each of our awards winners. Speaking order will be shared soon.
Please ask your author to prepare acceptance remarks limited to 5 minutes. Successful remarks include thanks for publishers, booksellers, and family/friends; stories about the book; anecdotes from visits to indie bookstores; etc. We'll have a raised podium and a
microphone at the front of the room for speakers' use. We will wrap up the remarks by 9:00 pm and reserve the rest of the time for
Authors sign their books before the event; the time after dinner is for further personalization. The book room (called "boardroom," see map) will be staffed starting at 10 am on Wed, Oct 11. Please ask your author to finish signing before 5:30 pm, allowing staff enough time to set up books before the event begins.

Ship books/galleys to the address below and label the outside of every box with the info requested. DO NOT SHIP EVENT BOOKS WITH YOUR BOOTH MATERIALS.
