Closing Reception
Friday, October 5, 4:00-6:00 pm, Great Hall
Placement Fee: $250
Drayage:
$1.00 per book
Quantity
: 200 comp books or galleys
The closing reception unites authors and booksellers to celebrate the end of a successful show. This party-like event is great for relationship-building. We will serve hors d'oeuvres and host a cash bar. Between 25-30 well-known and exciting new authors will be seated a table signing books for attendees.

The event features a raffle for attendees to win prizes if they visit every author's table. Each author will stamp the attendees' event card, which they will enter into a raffle at the end of the event. We will be asking publishers to donate prizes for the raffle.

If publisher staff would like to help with the signing, this is very welcome, but it's not necessary. Our book room staff will assist each author's signing.

TIPS FOR AUTHORS
  • Arrive no later than 3:30 pm and check in at the registration desk to receive your badges
  • Staff will direct and/or escort you to our book room (AJ Earling) where staff will lead authors to their assigned tables
  • Bring business cards or promotional postcards with your personal contact information, social media, etc.
  • Be creative. You have a table to promote yourself and icebreakers are nice. For example, one novelist with a vintage theme decorated his table with linens, flowers, and candy
  • Know your market. These are indie booksellers and you will endear yourself to them by supporting the indie market. If you don't already, it's necessary to include indie buy buttons on your website, and put indies first whenever you can. Here's how.
